Mission

Wellness

Our mission is to create a welcoming, supportive space where movement meets community.

Vision

Movement

All bodies are welcome and accommodated; this is a studio where exercise is accessible and people are encouraged to work at their own pace.

Purpose

Community

The Studio is more than Pilates and barre — we aspire to be a meaningful part of your neighborhood. We focus on building community connections that inspire people to care of themselves and make positive impacts in the places we all call home.

Studio Values

Inclusion for All
There is no one “right” way to look, move, or experience fitness. We create an inclusive environment where people of all backgrounds, bodies, ages, abilities, and experience levels feel welcome.

Support Over Perfection
We celebrate progress, not perfection. Studio Instructors meet people where they are, encourage them, and create an environment where growth feels sustainable.

Pilates & Barre with Purpose The Studio uses both the Pilates Method and traditional barre as the foundation of movement at the Studio. We are committed to making these methods of self-care accessible, adaptable, and attainable for every level of experience.

Give Back & Shop Local
Being part of a community means supporting each other inside and outside the Studio. We believe in promoting other small businesses, makers, entrepreneurs, nonprofits, and local organizations that make communities so special.

Isles of Man

Pilates began in 1914 during WWI

Joseph Pilates developed his method of Contrology through years of studying anatomy, movement, gymnastics, boxing, yoga, and other forms of physical training. During World War I, he worked with injured soldiers and began refining exercises designed to help people regain strength, mobility, and control. He experimented with resistance from springs, eventually inspiring the equipment and principles that would become central to the Pilates Method.

In the 1920s, Joseph Pilates and his wife, Clara, moved to New York City and opened their Studio. The Method emphasized precise, intentional movement, rather than simply exercising for the sake of exertion. Students were taught to develop strength from the center of the body (The Powerhouse), improve posture and alignment, and coordinate movement with breathing.

Due to Joseph and Clara Pilates' persistence in physically bringing their machines and the Method to studios across the world, their work with dancers, athletes, and everyday people eventually grew into a worldwide movement.

We hope you will join us at the Studio to find out for yourself how Pilates will benefit you.
